James L. Dooling, III

James Lawrence “Jimmy” Dooling, III, 54, of Pocomoke City, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009, after a courage battle against cancer at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born January 21, 1955 in Trenton, New Jersey, he was the son of James L. “Larry” Dooling, Jr. of Pocomoke City and the late Eunice Ferguson Dooling.

Jimmy was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Pocomoke City. He worked with Lankford-Sysco for twenty-two years and then for two years with Lowe's in Pocomoke and the past year and half as the risk manager for Worcester County. He was past exalted ruler Pocomoke Elks Lodge #1624, and past president of the Pocomoke City Vol. Fire Company with 29 years active service. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, cooking, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Pam Dooling, a sister, Joy Dooling Long and her husband Jimmy and their children, Ethan, Parker and Madison all of Pocomoke City, a nephew Dustin Allen Rich of Bryson City, NC, a niece, Jessica J. Magestro and her husband Thomas and their children Jade, Rocky and Talan of Sylva, NC, a brother-in-Law, Lester W. McMahan and his daughter, Elsie McMahan and a special niece, Pamela Clark all of Hallwood, his father-in-Law, JL McMahan and his wife Doris of Withams, VA, an aunt, Martha Dura and her daughter Terry both of Trenton, NJ, two cousins, Robert and Ronnie Hoffman, godson, Tom Wall, III, and, of course never to be forgotten his “babies” Jake, Puddin',and Peaches, his faithful Yorkies. Jimmy will be remembered by his many co-workers and friends whom he touched through his devotion to work and community service, expecially those in the Elks and fire service.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Pocomoke City Elks Lodge, 1944 Worcester Hwy., Pocomoke City, MD where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service and also Saturday from 6 pm – 8 pm at the Holloway Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851. Interment, with firefighter’s honors, will follow in St. Mary’s Episcopal Cemetery in Pocomoke City, MD.
