August 27, 2011 6:17 p.m. The
Pocomoke City vol. Fire Co. respondet to an electrical hazard on 10th St.
to assist Pocomoke Public Works. The large tree split in the middle, one
trunk fell on the home the other blocked 10th St. This was the result of
heavy rain and high winds from hurricane Irene. There was a family in the
home at the time the tree fell. One person inside said she heard a loud
pop! No one was injured, however, the family was unable to continue to stay
in the home for safety reasons.
The Fire Co. used the tower truck to reach some of the large limbs.
Chief Dicky Gladding was the officer in charge. |
