June 21, 2011 3:13 p.m. The Pocomoke City Vol. Fire Co. and Pocomoke EMS responded to a person trapped in an elevator at the town houses on Riverside Drive. The elevator car was located on the ground floor and the door would not open. Firefighters re-set the elevator electrical system and then they were able to open the elevator door. There was one occupant in the elevator. He was not injured and only remained in the elevator for a short time. Pocomoke City Police marked the elevator "Out of Service". PCVFC Firefighter Chris Barrs was the crew leader for the rescue team.
