POCOMOKE CITY VOL. FIRE CO.

Our Station, located on Fifth Street in Pocomoke City, was built in 1937.  It is constructed of all brick, and has had some renovation work done to include an additional 2 bays added on the back of the building.    The first floor includes 7 apparatus bays, gear storage area, office, SCBA cascade refilling compressor, and a recreation room complete with a pool table and cable TV.  The second floor contains our meeting room, a banquet hall with a seating capacity of 170, and a full service kitchen.

There is a second building behind the main building where the 1923 American LaFrance and its trailer is stored.  An addition was completed to the rear building in 2004 to house Tower 1.

We have outgrown our current building and have purchased the former A & P (AKA old Meatland) building on Market Street between Fourteenth Street and Fifteenth Street. We have demolished a portion of the building, and plans are to erect a new structure to house the company's equipment.  The former Drug Fair (AKA old Newberry's) portion of the building is currently planned to be renovated to be used as a community centerl.  Grant's and Donations are currently being sought to assist in this capital project.  The plan is to develop a structure to carry Pocomoke Fire Company well into the future.  Donations from the pubic will be sought and everyone is encouraged to assist in this endeavor.  Anyone who can help is asked to contact the company.
