House fire on Cedar Street
Sunday, March 3, 2024

On March 3rd at 1141 hours, the PCVFC and surrounding companies were dispatched to the 700 block of Cedar St for a house on fire. Initial reports were a kitchen fire with extension. Tower 1 and Engine 102 arrived simultaneously and went to work. Engine 102 stretched a line to the rear and began extinguishing all visible fire. Tower 1 split crews between venting the roof and searching for any victims. Searches were negative. All other companies were put to work upon arrival. Chief Miller had command. The fire is under investigation by the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office.

NOTE: There were several lithium batttery powered vehicles in this home that were removed by occupants. While unrelated to this fire, please check out these resources provided by the NFPA about how to be safe with lithium-ion batteries.
